Capitola Beach Surprise Proposal | John & Sarah

John contacted me about a week before Thanksgiving; he was going to propose to his girlfriend Sarah, and he wanted it to be a complete surprise! For this surprise proposal at Capitola Beach, John and I had a phone call beforehand to plan everything out. The day of the proposal, I spotted them on a picnic blanket, and I pretended to be a photographer student and asked these two “strangers” for a quick minute so I could practice on them for a photo assignment! I decided to place them against the iconic and colorful Capitola Painted Houses, and when John got down on one knee, Sarah was shocked…and she said YES!! We then took photos under the pier and we ended the session with the Capitola Painted Houses in the background. It was so wonderful being a part of this moment and capturing the pure joy and emotion emanating from these two. Scroll to see a few of my favorites!
